IV. Introduction to English Studies

 

Objectives:
This course will serve as an introduction to the study of language, especially English, its basic disciplines and basic notions. Students will be informed about the origin and development of language, and the history of diachronic and synchronic linguistics. Special attention will be paid to linguistic terminology and to chief representatives of English philology.

 

Requirements and assessment:
Credits based on attendance (80%), active participation, and final written test.
